Words can’t adequately express the joy I have for the coming of autumn. I begin to lose hope in August that the heat will ever abate. I forget it will eventually break and I will enjoy the outdoors again.
I just got back from the Dominican Republic and it’s wonderful to be home. I enjoyed having the opportunity to see the DR and met some very kind and interesting people. Sadly, due to security concerns in Santo Domingo we did get to see much. Even our trip to the Colonial Zone got thwarted by a crazy thunderstorm. It’s been quite sometime since I’ve been to a developing country and it puts things in perspective. I consider myself pretty self-aware and grateful for what I have, but I’m human and prone to complain about things that are quite trivial.
October holds a lot of potential. My calendar is filling up fast and I’m actually confused about what is happening when and where. I have 2 friends moving, a trip to Atlanta, a big event at work, and some volunteer responsibilities.
Today I went to the Brooks Museum for the Impressionist exhibit and was not disappointed. For the 7 dollar admission you also get a ticket to the Dixon for the Forain exhibit. You can’t beat that price! Seriously, if you are even mildly interested in art go check it out. It’s ending in the next couple of weeks. I’ll be hitting up the Dixon next weekend.
It’s come to my attention that this blog is a tad boring, even as I sit here writing it. I’ve got to do something about that. Suggestions?
