It’s time to revive old hobbies. So here we are.
So much time has passed that I don’t even know how to use these WordPress features. How aging slows down my adoption of new technology is humbling.
I’m a father now. The best word I can use to describe it is “surreal”, especially because I never thought it would happen. I think about my mother often. She would have been obsessed with this adorable baby boy.
The nights are long but there is a certain freedom in staying up late watching him, knowing that there isn’t anything else more important in my world. That kind of conviction (that I’m undoubtedly spending my time where it’s most needed) is a rare feeling. It’s been over a decade since I’ve kept these hours, but this taste of night owl life is intoxicating. I’ve binged more shows than I can remember, spent hours texting friends overseas, and made several ill-advised 2 a.m. purchases. My susceptibility to targeted ads increases significantly after midnight. On the plus side, the Levi’s McLaren jean jacket does look great on me.
The baby is stirring. Time to get him a snack.
